ARTIST NOTES: When i was little my ice-creams were enormous. I used to eat mine on the pier in Southend with my Grandad. Each time we visited Grandad with my parents, grandad always reminded me of the time we shared on the pier in my little red coat.

ARTIST BIO

Louise Russell

I was born in Lancashire in the northwest of England. I loved all aspects of art during my secondary school years and i was encouraged to pursue further education in this field.

I was exposed to some significant trauma during my teenage years which turned my world upside down and changed the direction i was travelling.

I moved to Adelaide in 2008 with my husband and 2 children and i have worked in palliative care since this time. Unfortunately early in 2019 my health forced me to slow down. During my recovery i have reconnected with my love of art and it has been the most magical therapy.

My first painting was 'My Beautiful'. The emotions i experienced during this paitniting were incredible and are something i struggle to put into words. I knew this painting was the start of something special. I was truly amazed that i could paint and i felt i should quickly embark on a second painitng to ensure it was not a fluke! I gained the confirmation i required and i have not stopped paitning since.

My paintings are re-framing my past and changing my future in a way i could never have imagined.

My art in both my sculptures and paitings brings me enormous joy and i hope to share some of this with you.
